WILSON ECO II delivered – moving toward more sustainable shipping

Published: 24. September 2025

Last week, we proudly took delivery of WILSON ECO II and marked it with a naming ceremony. The vessel was built at Udupi Cochin Shipyard Limited in India, and we are pleased to announce that board member Kirsti Tønnessen is the vessel’s godmother.

WILSON ECO II marks another milestone in Wilson’s long-term investment in modern and energy-efficient vessels. Designed by Conoship International with the innovative CIP3800 design, the vessel combines advanced technology with operational flexibility and is prepared for future solutions such as wind-assisted propulsion.

Like her sister vessel, WILSON ECO II operates well below the IMO’s 2025 requirements for energy efficiency. This reflects the strong environmental profile of the ECO series and underlines Wilson’s commitment to reducing emissions and contributing to a more sustainable shipping industry.

🔹 The newbuilding program includes six 3,800 DWT vessels and eight 6,300 DWT vessels, with deliveries already underway and continuing through 2028. With two vessels now in operation, Wilson is strengthening its fleet while significantly reducing its environmental footprint.

Present from Wilson were Managing Director Øyvind Gjerde and CFO Einar Torsnes, together with members of the Board of Directors: Eivind Eidesvik, Bernt Eidesvik, Per Gunnar Strømberg Rasmussen, Katrine Trovik, Petter Dragesund and Torleif Østensen.
